Police have arrested Cordell M. Howze, 33, in connection to the murder of black transgender woman Cashay Henderson. Henderson was found dead in her burning apartment on Feb. 26, with gunshot wounds to her head and neck. Howze was charged with first-degree reckless homicide and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He had been in jail until two days before Henderson's death for violating the terms of his extended supervision from a prior felony conviction. Howze's competency to stand trial is being evaluated.
