Logan Mertlich, 36, was pulled over after he failed to use his turn signal and police discovered he had no insurance.

Mertlich, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle that smelled of marijuana.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found large bags of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine and dried mushrooms. They also found a white box with homemade explosives

Mertlich reportedly said he made explosives as a hobby.

Mertlich was reportedly involved in an previous incident where a child sustained serious bodily injury from his explosive device.
