Arizona woman charged with first-degree murder for shooting husband in parking lot

Police arrested Tamika Hylton on suspicion of fatally shooting her husband in a smoke shop parking lot.\nWhen police arrived at the scene they found the victim, who was identified as the business owner, dead in the parking lot with gunshot wounds to his side and head.

The witnesses reported the suspect fled the scene and that the victim had gunshot wounds to his side but was standing, and then more gunshots were fired, including to his head, killing him.

Hylton initially told police she was inside the smoke shop when she heard the gunshots, and she found her husband injured in the parking lot.\nPolice found blood inside the smoke shop on the door, floor and counters, in addition to two guns located inside the shop and an empty holster in Tamika Hylton's purse.

Police found that 10 minutes before the shooting Tamika Hylton texted a man who recently arrived from New York \"He's here outside you think I can pull this off\" and the man replied \"you gott get this money so u can move.\"

Hylton was booked into jail on one count of first-degree murder.
