Man arrested for spitting in state trooper\u00e2\u0080\u0099s coffee in Chicago

Vincent J. Sessler, 25, was arrested in Chicago and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Reckless Conduct, and Battery to a Peace Officer.

Illinois State Police say the day before that arrest, one of their Troopers bought a large black coffee from the Dunkin\u00e2\u0080\u0099 Donuts at the at the 6738 West Archer Avenue location.

While the Trooper was taking the lid off to let the coffee cool down, he saw a large, thick piece of mucus floating inside.

It was later confirmed to be saliva

ISP District Chicago Troopers immediately initiated an investigation that ultimately led to Sessler's arrest. He is an employee at the franchise.

\u00e2\u0080\u009cThis is outrageous and disgusting. The men and women of the Illinois State Police put their heart and soul into protecting the lives and rights of all people in this state every day,\u00e2\u0080\u009d said ISP Director Brendan F. Kelly. \u00e2\u0080\u009cThey deserve better than this insulting and dangerous treatment. For their safety, ISP officers and employees will be prohibited from patronizing this location,\u00e2\u0080\u009d he added.

Sessler remains in custody at the Chicago Police Department 8th District. The investigation is open and ongoing.
