Florida man accused of approaching an officer from behind and cutting the officers neck.

On Thursday, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrested the man accused of attacking a JSO officer and cutting his neck during a protest in Downtown Jacksonville last month.

JSO said Martin Bryan Silvera-Albor approached the officer from behind and repeatedly hit him in the head and neck, cutting the officer on the right side of the neck with an unknown object which required the officer be taken to the hospital for treatment.

Martin Bryan Silvera-Albor, 22, was taken into custody on Thursday, according to JSO. Silvera-Albor is charged with simple battery on a law enforcement officer, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, criminal mischief and resisting an officer without violence.

A spokesman for the Sheriff\u00e2\u0080\u0099s Office said the arrest was made thanks to a tip. An $8,000 reward was being offered for information leading to Silvera-Albor\u00e2\u0080\u0099s arrest.
