Customer uses shopping cart to injure pharmacy robber in Las Vegas
According to an arrest report for Matthew Jezorski, 32, he was arrested March 1 in connection with four robberies in the northwest valley. Police also said a subsequent search of his Las Vegas residence turned up five explosive devices made for \u00e2\u0080\u009cthe sole purpose of causing serious bodily harm and/or death.\u00e2\u0080\u009d
\u00e2\u0080\u009cThe series was coined \u00e2\u0080\u0098The Bag Man\u00e2\u0080\u0099 because of the specific Modus Operandi \u00e2\u0080\u0098Mode of Operation\u00e2\u0080\u0099 the suspect was using,\u00e2\u0080\u009d the report stated. \u00e2\u0080\u009cThe suspect would only commit robberies to pharmacy businesses, steal prescription narcotics, have the victims fill grocery gags with prescription pills, wear latex gloves, and wear grocery bags over his shoes.\u00e2\u0080\u009d
During the last robbery, a customer at the CVS intervened and smashed the fleeing robber with a shopping cart, allowing officers to make an arrest.
\u00e2\u0080\u009c(A store employee) watched a customer run into Jezorski with a shopping cart,\u00e2\u0080\u009d the arrest report states. \u00e2\u0080\u009cThe shopping cart knocked him over. She then saw Jezorski drop something black.\u00e2\u0080\u009d
Jezorski was hospitalized with \u00e2\u0080\u009can injury that occurred when the customer pushed a shopping cart into him,\u00e2\u0080\u009d police said. A booking photo from the Clark County Detention Center shows Jezorski with a significant wound to the side of his face and nose.
The arrest report for Jezorski said he confessed to the robberies \u00e2\u0080\u009cbecause he had a drug addiction.\u00e2\u0080\u009d He also acknowledged manufacturing four of the five explosive devices in his home, police said in the report.
