A woman died last Sunday in Scottsdale after a man burned her with hot water while she was overdosing on heroin.
Police went to the home that Monday, a little before 1:30 p.m. for reports of an overdose. During the investigation, police discovered that 63-year-old Gary Rundle, the person who called 911, gave the 37-year-old woman 1/3 of a gram of heroin, which caused her to lose consciousness. An extremely intoxicated Rundle told police that he poured multiple pans of hot water on her in an attempt to revive her.
Police said the water temperature was 150 degrees, and Rundle admitted he knew it was \u00e2\u0080\u009ctoo hot,\u00e2\u0080\u009d.
An officer said in the police report, \u00e2\u0080\u009cHe asked me what was worse, a blast of hot water or dying?\"
